Needle felted birds

Join textile artist Jayne Emerson for an introduction to needle felting during which you'll make a robin and a second bird of your own design.
Jayne famously taught Kirstie Allsopp how to needle felt on her show Kirstie’s Handmade Britain and is one of the craft experts at her annual Handmade Fair. She is the author of five books Simply Felt (with Margaret Docherty), The Impatient Patchworker, The Impatient Embroiderer, New from Old and Simply Needle felt.

An introduction to the ultimate in crafty recycling. During the morning you will start work on your own rug or cushion. Bring along any old rags and pieces of fabrics (cotton jersey is especially good), but you will also be able to raid our own stash of fabric.

A Fibreworks first - the opportunity to dye your own yarn with Hannah of HeyJay Hand-dyed Yarns. You'll have four skeins of yarn to work with and the chance to learn all about the art of hand-dyeing in our studio.
