FIBRE FESTIVAL 2019
ROWAN 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Saturday 27 October, 10am - 5pm
Join us for an exciting look back into the history of Rowan as we celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary.
Don’t miss this chance to see an exclusive number of archive garments from the last four decades, alongside some iconic garments from more recent publications, all on display in our studio. This is a truly unique opportunity to see the past and present of Rowan all in one place. Naturally, there will be cake and fizz. We'll have all the latest books, magazine and brochures to browse, including the limited edition 40th anniversary book. You'll also have the chance to test out Rowan's latest yarn, Alpaca Classic, for yourself. A combination of alpaca and cotton, it's light, soft, warm, competitively priced and ideal for anyone unable to tolerate wool. The shade range is impressive and includes several melange colourways which are always popular and extremely flattering to most complexions. There will be a prize draw for a lovely box of Rowan-related goodies - you'll be given a ticket for any Rowan purchase and/or for coming along wearing a Rowan handknit garment or accessory. On top of that, for every customer spending £30+ on Rowan there will be a £5 voucher to use against your next Rowan purchase. |

FIBRE FESTIVAL 2015
Our annual Fibre Festival continues to grow in scale and ambition and this year we were delighted to host knitting and quilting guru Kaffe Fassett, famous around the world for his ground-breaking use of colour. The Festival took over both Middle Row and Chipping Norton Theatre for the afternoon, where Kaffe delivered a talk on his 'life in colour,' signed books and answered our questions on his work and inspiration. Here's a visual reminder of the day - more pics can be viewed on our blog page.

FIBRE FESTIVAL 2013
Last year we held our first-ever festival, a celebration of Chipping Norton's historic and contemporary wool and textiles heritage. Here are just a few pics from the day:
Autumn Fair 2012

Is it really a year ago? This year, courtesy of the fabulous autumn sunshine, we were able to greet the people of Chipping Norton outside. Perched on the south side of the main High Street, we had a group of intensely enthusiastic youngsters from the age of 3 to 33 years come up and have a go at rag rugging.
Many others remembered with great fondness, how parents and grandparents made rag rugs for their homes. Seems a new generation may be doing the same in the future.

Wool in Winchcombe: 14 April - 5 May

Wool in Winchcombe will be a celebration of the town's wool trade heritage and is the brainchild of Jane Smoczynski, owner and curator of the Winds of Change Gallery. In addition to hosting a very special wool-related exhibition, Jane has arrange a three-week programme of events focused on all aspects of wool and the wool trade.
We'll be at her gallery on Wednesday 18 April hosting an open knitting day when we're inviting people ot drop in and knit with us and Chippy's own Yarnbomber. We hope to encourage more people to start to knit and for those who've already taken up their needles we'll be introducing some small-scale yarnbombing to decorate Winchcombe.
