In our beautiful town of Chipping Norton, we have an unknown (mostly)  'YARN BOMBER'. Made to measure crochet and knitted adornments to lampposts and litter bins, among other things, appear over night, bringing colour and controversy to the every day visitor. They appear to celebrate events occurring in the town, the annual loveliness of festivals and occasions all year round.

This time Chipping Norton was host to wandering thespians willing to stand on street corners to entertain passers by. In the past we have seen red noses on top of railings for red nose day. Waves of yarn in hues of blue to celebrate Chippy's Lido re opening after refurbishment. Hearts all around on every door for Valentines. Honey bees hidden in shop windows for a children's treasure hunt and of course snowmen for Christmas.

But sadly rumour has it that the enigma that is 'THE YARN BOMBER' will soon be leaving us!!!

What a shame, they will miss the opening of our unique shop with a multitude of colourful yarns to choose from too. Lets hope this talented individual will hand over their crochet hook and knitting needles so this uplifting, surprising and fun activity can continue to delight both residents and visitors alike....or we could hope it is just a rumour!

You will be able to visit us soon as preparations speed up for our grand opening.

good luck with your new shop - just what we need in Chippy to encourage more yarn addicts!
Contrary to strange rumours you have heard, I am not planning to leave town - and am currently working on yarnbombing for the Autumn Fair on Oct 1st. xx

I'm a huge fan of the yarnbomber - makes me smile every time I'm in town - wouldn't it be wonderful if the whole world was bombed like this! Please keep it up - your efforts are really appreciated :-)
